Our Mission
The Clayton Local Development Corporation seeks to promote, provide and enhance employment opportunities and business development in the Town and Village of Clayton; and act in the public interest to improve the area’s quality of life, to lessen the burdens of government, and to improve the economic welfare and prosperity of all residents.
- Obtained grant funding to demolish the buildings and clean up the brownfield site
- $1.54M was awarded for the cleanup of the Frink America brownfield site.
- Obtained grant funding for the construction of the 1000 Islands Harbor Hotel on former Frink America Site
- Obtained funding for Phase 1 of the development of the Clayton Riverwalk
- Secured grant funding for the construction of the Frink Park Pavilion and Phase 2 of the Riverwalk
- Frink Park Pavilion and Riverwalk extension from the River
- Secured $1.742M for the development of the Clayton Municipal Harbor Marina
- Obtained $1.2M from a Restore NY Grant for the development of the Clayton Yacht House and improvements to RJ Marine
- Secured a grant through the USDA for $85,000 for Wood Boat Brewery to purchase bottling equipment
- Secured $182,000 for the promotion of local craft beverage producers
- Riverwalk Extension from Frink Park to Vetran's Memorial Monument
- Secured $1.31M for Riverwalk Phase 3 from the Vetran's Monument to Key Bank
- Riverwalk 3 construction to be completed October 2018
- The CLDC has obtained $2M for the historic District Infrastructure Improvement Project which will be rehabilitating the streets, curbs and sidewalks, replacing water mains and sewer laterals, burying utility lines and installation of street lights
